Digital Asset, the company behind Canton Network, completes $355M Series F round at $2B valuation.
The round attracted backing from a broad mix of TradFi and DeFi participants, including an Abu Dhabi Investment Authority subsidiary, Apollo Funds, BNP Paribas, Broadridge, Citadel Securities, CME Ventures, Coinbase Ventures, HSBC, Optiver, Polychain, S&P Global, SoFi, Tradeweb, William Blair and others.
➡️ Why this matters
Most financial institutions agree that blockchain will become part of the future financial infrastructure.
What remains uncertain is which networks will emerge as the institutional operating layer.
Canton is one of the few blockchain ecosystems demonstrating meaningful institutional traction. Its permissioned architecture gives institutions something they care deeply about:
- Privacy
- Operational control
- Governance visibility
The new round will gives it the “freedom to do M&A, to participate in interesting projects,” and to help its partners build onchain businesses according to CEO Yuval Rooz
In order words: More capital → more builders → more applications → more users → more institutions.
While technology matters in blockchain, distribution, ecosystem growth, and network adoption often matter more for winning.
