JPMorgan Kinexys enables cross-border fiat payout for Ripple's tokenized MMF redemption

JPMorgan enabled tokenized MMF redemption payout in fiat for Ripple via Mastercard and from Ondo Finance.

According to Ripple, JPMorgan’s Kinexys Digital Payments was used to settle the redemption of Ondo's tokenized U.S. money market fund (OUSG) on the XRP Ledger and via Mastercard’s Multi-Token Network.

The workflow:

- Ripple redeems Ondo’s tokenized MMF (OUSG) on the XRP Ledger

- Mastercard’s Multi-Token Network orchestrates redemption instruction and connectivity between the digital asset workflow and JPMorgan’s banking infrastructure

- JPMorgan’s Kinexys platform debits Ondo's JPM blockchain account and facilitates USD payment to Ripple’s Singapore bank account via correspondent banking rails

This appears to be one of the first examples where a public blockchain, tokenized fund infrastructure, global card network infrastructure, and traditional banking/payment rails coordinated together to process a cross-border tokenized fund redemption workflow.

More importantly, it demonstrates how institutional tokenized fund infrastructure is beginning to interoperate with existing global banking systems.

Practically, this suggests:
