Chainlink, Aave and Hanwha: The 24/7 RWA Pricing & Collateral Opportunity

You can tokenize a stock and transfer it on Sunday. But it stopped trading on Friday. So how much should a lender let you borrow against it? Chainlink launches it solution
Chainlink has launched 24/7 RWA pricing for tokenized assets, with Aave adopting it for its institutional lending platform, Horizon.
It addresses a fundamental mismatch: blockchain lending operates around the clock, while underlying securities markets close.
If significant news breaks over the weekend, Friday’s closing price may no longer reflect what buyers would pay for the collateral.
➡️ Here is how Chainlink bridges that gap:
- During active market sessions, it uses trading-session pricing data.
- When traditional markets close, it draws on quotes from multiple perpetual futures venues.
- It combines these sources into a continuous reference price that lending platforms can use to value collateral.
That gives perpetual futures a potentially important role beyond speculation: helping determine borrowing capacity against tokenized securities:
- For investors, the opportunity is to unlock liquidity without selling their holdings.
- For lenders, it is to identify changing collateral risk before traditional markets reopen.
The same shift is visible in Hanwha Investment & Securities’ new Chainlink partnership: building a tokenization platform with pricing, cross-chain connectivity and standards for using assets as collateral.
➡️ But continuous pricing is only one part of 24/7 financing.
A reference price can indicate that collateral has fallen in value. Recovering a loan still requires eligible buyers, executable liquidity and reliable settlement.
Chainlink is addressing the valuation gap. The next unlock is having the liquidity around it.
