Deutsche Bank Launches Digital Asset Custody

Deutsche Bank plans to launch digital asset custody for institutional clients - first step toward offering a vertically integrated, full-service tokenized finance platform.


Subject to regulatory approval, institutional and corporate clients will be able to securely hold and transfer Bitcoin, Ether and selected stablecoins with Deutsche Bank later this year.

Digital asset custody is the foundation on which a broader suite of financial services can be built, from sales and trading to capital-markets issuance and cash management.


Crucially, bank-led custody also operates within a framework institutional investors already know and trust. Deutsche Bank is targeting asset managers, hedge funds, custodians, brokers and sovereign institutions - clients accustomed to the bank’s workflows, compliance standards and risk controls.


Combining digital asset capabilities with familiar institutional infrastructure and the strength of a global bank’s balance sheet could be key to scaling institutional adoption.
